JB Engineering (Hatton) Ltd

JB Engineering (Hatton) Ltd's main strength is being able to approach a project not just from one specialist area but several. We have various departments that cover multiple engineering processes, for example, welding, sheet metal bending and laser profiling. These departments are spread over one site and are supported by a strong administration team, accounts, human resources and health and safety departments.

'We have a wide range of services to suit your business needs'

The JB site is made up of two workshops, offices and parking. The workshops are fully equipped with fabrication and CNC (computer numerical control) machinery, offering the following.

  • Five-ton overhead crane with a working height of 7m from the underside of the hook to the workshop floor, enabling us to manufacture structures up to a height of 7m.
  • Fabrication workshop covering 425 square metres.
  • Work with different grades of steel, from heavy duty hardened steel to light gauge stainless steel of food industry standard.
  • Pyramid bending rolls with a capacity of 3mm thick mild steel over 1.5m length.
  • 130-ton press brake capable of bending 3 metres depending on thickness of material.
  • Electrical pipe cutters and threading machines up to 2” pipe diameter.
  • A variety of drilling equipment, including magnetic, pillar and a small radial.
  • Pipe bending up to 2” pipe diameter.
  • Guillotine with a 2.5m blade length able to shear 5mm mild steel over the full length.
  • Horizontal band saw.
  • JCB telescopic handler and Hyster fork truck - three-ton capacity for unloading and loading of materials.

Engineering / Fabrications / Site services

Our engineering and site services department covers fabrication, welding, mechanical fitting, customer site maintenance, technical advice and bespoke projects.

These services create a strong bond with our customers from the start of a project to its completion.

The department is headed by our engineering services director, who oversees both site services and fabrication. We have designated teams of fabricators and fitters, with the teams led by lead engineers. Our lead engineers are supported by  tradespersons, semi-skilled tradespersons, labourers and drivers.

Our teams are fully conversant engineers and tradespersons in their own field of expertise, including: fabrication, CAD design, welding, mechanical installation and maintenance. Just give us a call on  01283 812348 ext 2.

'We provide a rapid response and company-wide focus on meeting our customer deadlines.'

Laser / Bending / Fabrication

Our laser, bending and fabrication department covers laser profiling, sheet metal pressing, small fabrications, technical advice, bespoke projects and prototyping.

Our fabrication service is suited to small or moderate-sized single or repeat patch quantities. Our operations director director leads bespoke projects and prototyping.

These services create a strong bond with our customers from the start of a project to its completion.

A growing area of our work is ‘reverse engineering’ – using detailed drawings, sketches or just a description to put ideas into practice.

The department is headed by our operations director, who leads from the front and is supported by CAD/CAM laser programmers, laser service technicians, press brake operatives, welding and fabrication teams, labourers and drivers. Just give us a call on  01283 812348 ext 1.
